Our small insignificant planet

They slash across the sky.
They shine, shimmering,
centered in our lives,
bright like pollen wafted against the night sky.

It waves gently as it grows tall,
surrounds us like skinny, green guards,
watching our movements
as we trample it and stain our clothes green with it.

She breathes,
heart beating,
fingers tapping,
warming up the keyboard.

We don't see it
though it ruins us.
It saves the natural world
while killing the human one.

All of this occurring
on a very small
multicolored
planet.
