The brush bites at your shins. Twigs slap your face. You look down. Your shoelaces are dancing under your soles.
Even they are against you. The wind steals teardrops from your cheeks as you sprint through the forest. The evil cackle from behind you shrieks up your back. Even in his pointy-toed shoes the leprechaun gains on you. You risk a glance over your shoulder, the tiny creature seems to be bouncing more then running. It's quick feet frighten you and though the sun hovers high above the tree tops, the sweat on your brow is suddenly cold. A snake of fear tunnles through your veins. You glance back again. It seems, though you might be mistaken, that the leprechaun has a very unnatural look about it. Its eyes a bit to wide and unblinking, like balls of glass. Its smile simply painted onto wood, with teeth that seem to be sharp. Its whole face actually reminds you of a mask. Another cackle rips through the forest, uprooting crows from their perch. By now, you believe it is not simply chasing you for a hug and you have no means of waiting to find out. So you keel dodging through the pines, the end of a rainbow hot on your heels.
