Ocean Girl

Wet is the skin on the back of her neck
Wet from the brine and wet from the air
Wet is the sea that caresses her feet
And the wind that entangles her hair.
Big are her eyes that encompass the sea
Tall are the waves that intimidate the sky
Far is the lighthouse away from the girl
Close are the questions, the whats and the whys. The sea pulls her ankles
The sand buries her feet
The clouds fall closer to her bare head
The town watches from behind
She cannot be read
She cannot be read
She cannot be read.
