Just because I don't agree
with what you're saying does not mean
that I am against you,
does not mean I'm invalidating your opinion.
You should not view the world
through the lens of
"if you are not with me, you are against me."
As with many world issues, things are never cut and dried.
There's always more than two sides,
always more than two opinions.
Personal beliefs are complex
and just because our beliefs do not align exactly
does not mean I am against you, but
I do think that your view of the situation
is somewhat flawed.
At the same time, I understand that my view of the situation
can never be totally complete
because these matters are far too complicated
for a single person to have a
complete totally correct view on any of them.
The difference between you and me is
I have come to understand that I
cannot understand everything,
no matter how hard I try and
I've come to understand that it's complicated
and understanding everything is impossible.
How you view the universe is subjective.
Well, most of it is.
Science is science – you should probably listen to that
and not present opinions backed up by
flawed and incomplete scientific beliefs.
But when it comes to the rest of the world,
how you interpret things is on you.
Don't try to force what you believe.
If you try to make them understand your belief
and try to understand their beliefs
and why they have those beliefs,
you end up with a more complete worldview.
