My rights reflected

My rights

Are my mirror

They reflect me

They reflect how people think of me

The mirror is small

Just big enough to see my face

It has a copper rim

Like a lucky penny

But not as lucky

My mirror is shattered

Broken into many pieces

The edges are sharp

Mean

Cruel

My reflection spread across all of them

The copper rim

Is rusted

I can try to put it back together

But everytime

I get pricked

Everytime

I get stopped

I hope one day

My mirror will be one

My face will be seen

There will be no sharp edges

It will be whole

I hope one day

My rights will be whole

  • This Book

    There was this book

    That I used to read

    When I was younger

It talked about all these women

    All these women

    Who did amazing things

  • Magnets

When magnets are placed the right way

    They connect

When they're placed the wrong way

They use everything in their power to stay away

    From each other

    They resist

    With a force

  • For Every Time

Every time a women makes 87 cents

    A man makes a dollar

For every time a woman gets spoken down on

    A man is the speaker

For every time a woman gets called weak

    A man is weaker
