musically talking

"music heals the soul"
is what they all say
but is it the music that heals us?
or is it the meaning of each word spoken in a song
or possibly the deep breaths in between words
without the music, it's just talking
without the talking, it's simply background musicthey work with each other
they complement each other beautifully
and sometimes
the background music
turns into symphonies
and those symphonies don't need a voice to them
and sometimes
the voice doesn't need a song to it
and it can simply speak
so yes,
music does heal the soul
but so do the words that come with it

  • But then

i haven't written in five months,

and i regret it every day

    my room is a mess,

but i don't know where to start

    the homework is piling up,

    and my perseverance is dwindling

    i need to practice more,

  • anticipation

i remember my first day of middle school

i was wearing washed-out jeans and a t-shirt from Target

my short brown hair was parted to the side

  • To my sister

my sister is the most beautiful person i have ever laid eyes on

    inside and out,

    she is impeccable.

she is the most generous, selfless, kind woman i have ever met

whether she's 10 minutes or 10 hours away,
