The Mirror

A wall of reflections

I see you,

as you berate yourself,

day in

and day out,

about your imperfections.

I am a wall

between the you

you want to be,

and the you

that you are.

I show you the truth,

or at least

what is there of it.

In me you see yourself,

though you are often scared

to reach for it.

A reflection is a copy,

often crumpled by waves and wind,

making the lines washy,

the image indecisive.

But I am not the water,

I am unmoving and impartial to your ways,

I am just a window, you see you in

every day.
