Memories Veiled in Ivory

Letting something else fill the void,

With silence as loud as winter.

The words stuck in my mind like a splinter.

I’ll keep my memory attached Polaroids,

Refusing to let go just yet.

Time will go on, though, and the sun will set,

And eventually I’ll forget,

As even the seasons let go,

Allowing the leaves to fall,

With time bringing in the snow.

I’ll try to remember it all,

Treasuring each memory,

As if it’s veiled in ivory.
