If I love you were the last words that would roll upon my lips, 

Would they find themselves an altar, 

As you kissed my fingertips? 

 

If the moment that they left me and my eyes let out a tear, 

Would you wipe it off my cheek, 

And remember I was here? 

 

If I love you were the words that came directly from my chest, 

And it harbored me to breathe them, 

Would you cherish what they’d left? 

 

If I love you was the only thing that I had left to say, 

Would it crumble you to pieces or would you simply walk away?
