I Want to Write

I want to write,

To let my words pour from my fingertips,

To allow my imagination to run free,

To gift my ideas to others,

To simply put pen to paper.

I want to write,

To give people a place to escape,

A land where their life doesn’t matter,

A world that they can simply observe,

A berth where they can let themselves shatter,

And build themselves back up

With the emotions and characteristics served to them on a platter.

I want to write,

To allow myself to create,

To sculpt my thoughts into words,

To mold my personality into paragraphs,

To shape my preferences into stories.

I want to write,

To script new worlds,

Models of an adventurous world,

Filled with fun and fantasy,

Complete with windows and mirrors,

Reflections and new chances,

Agreements and contradictions.

I want to write.

To give people a chance to see into my mind,

A peer into the ideas that my mind forms,

A view of the lives and maps I imagine,

The meaning that comes in storms,

The things that make me defined.

I want to write,

To create a world,

And to share one.
