I try too hard

I should just let the sun set 
I shouldn't try so hard 
Just to stay stuck in the same place 
I still have time 
To sit and watch the stars 
I shouldn't be in a rush to grow old 

But I want the freedom 
I want to explore the mountains with my friends 
Driving down windy roads 
In Arizona with the windows down 
The air would blow through my hair

But I also want to stay young 
I want to live in the same city 
Where I became a man 
I want my hometown to stay the same 

And I want high school to be better 
I want to be a name people are excited to hear
