I saw you today
And it felt like forever.
Your eyes are like a poet's,
Everything fades when you're around
And I need you to know it.
I saw you today
And it felt like forever.
Your eyes are like a poet's,
Everything fades when you're around
And I need you to know it.
You lied to me like it wouldn't flood
Everything that we had built
Those nights you held me close
Like nothing could ever bring us down.
But the water is filling my lungs,
so what should I say now?
that I will back away?
you'll chain me with your words
until you get your say
and shoot your shot with her
because you have a chance,
and I'll stick to my side,
On misty moons, I wander free,
Escaping life's cacophony,
The world's too loud—a fading sound,
As nature's peace enfolds me round.

Beautiful poem, Izzy, and to think you created it from mixing and matching words from the poems found in Anthology 15! Thanks for joining us at YWP in Burlington today!
Of course! I had a blast! :)
