How would you explain things
To someone who was born unknowing? Unseeing?
How to describe a net?
Its many holes hold you up,
Prevent you from falling.
But they are holes that catch your fall.
How to describe a door?
It is built to cover a hole in a wall
That you put there on purpose,
Just so you could open it again.
How to describe a tree?
It loses its leaves in winter,
Just to regrow them soon after.
Why waste that energy?
Someday, when you don’t know how to say something,
Wonder how you would say it to someone who was born unseeing, unknowing.
