How Dare you

How DARE it be the date it is
so close to school returning.
Tomorrow was a tiny thought
and now it’s hot and burning.
Dancing leaping red and gold
scorching hands and hurting souls
because to think that school is in,
means break is over, life is dim.
How DARE the break be over now
I still have more to do.
I want more sleep and stressless nights
and finish homework too.
rising late and eating much
sweets and cakes and bacon bites
hanging out with friends for hours
Movie watching, planting flowers.
How DARE you take that all away
By showing me that dreaded day.
Please excuse me-
for my own sake
I’ll know go count the days until next break.

  • A Space Among The Stars

To live in a space among the stars
    I'd have to get binoculars
To see the dentist on the moon
And find the next Uber at noon.
To live in a space among the stars
I'd have to float to school in cars.
  • Frost

    Its fingers were hot
    and cold and
    sweet and dark.
    All at the same time.

    Sleeeeep.

    It whispered in her ear.
    Her petals shivered.
    Its breath ran slowly
    down
    her stem and
    tickled a leaf.
