The Game Monster

It was raining.
My feet were getting wet, slowly at first, but that type of thing always accelrates in the most annoying, unnoticable way.
As we stepped out from the shelter of the museum's large stone archway, I offered to take the umbrell no one else wanted.
I thought, "Oh, lucky me, I'll be nice and dry while you guys are getting all wet!"
I was wrong. First of all, an umbrella slows you down, because you have to watch out for other people's too-close bodies you could accidentally poke, and steer your feet away from lurkng puddles, becuase it's raining, duh. It wasn't a big umbrella; I don't know if it's small size helped me, or made it worse. I'm leaning towards 'made it worse'.
By the time we were almost to the resturaunt, my semi-waterproof shoes were soaked, and  the bottom of my pants were starting to cling to my legs. I saw a couple leaving a bright, dry, caffe, sharing a large balck umbrella. They looked like they had a bubble of air around them, as if the rain didn't affect their umbrella-bubble. I felt like I was doing it wrong.
I wanted to start all over from the beginning of this avoid-the-rain level, and score one hundred.
Unforuneatly, my umbrella, which I thought was bonus weapon, was actually an annoying game monster.
