Dream Bedroom

The bedroom I’m living in currently is honestly not that bad. It’s cozy—has natural lighting and a nice view, an awesome computer setup, and a huge bed (it squeaks a ton, though)—but just a little bland. I don’t have enough posters to cover up the bland walls, and since there’s no fan or lights on the ceiling it’s just drab. My bed is also covered in old, brightly mismatched pillows that aren’t very pleasing to the eye. That being said, I do still love my room (especially the bed), but I think it could be better.

I’d start with painting the walls—I’ve thought about doing it on a whim, but have never gotten around to it—or maybe just covering them up with posters and the like. I’ve always wanted something hanging from the ceiling—one of those tapestry-looking sheets with the designs, or the fake vines that always manage to look so cool. Although, I don’t want the room to feel congested with the amount of stuff in it. It feels perfect right now, if a little empty (because it is actually quite big, just in a very strange shape with a lot of oddly placed corners to make room for the closet—which, by the way, is right at the foot of the bed and is not fun to sleep in front of).

The lighting could change, too—right now I have a dinky little light with half the bulbs blown out (there’s multiple connected to one stand and it kind of looks like one of those spider plants, I couldn’t find the word for it). A lot of people have those LED strips that change color, and I actually might have fairy lights in my closet now that I’ve thought about it. As well, I have a lot of action figures and things like that, which are just sitting on my dresser since I don’t have shelves, so I would probably install those. I’d magically make the bed not squeak anymore and get matching sheets, and add a full body mirror hanging on my door like I’ve had in the past.

Finally, if I had space, which right now I doubt I do, I would love to have an enclosure in my room for some kind of reptile. My mom is highly opposed to snakes, but I might be able to get away with a gecko or lizard. Maybe. Possibly. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my brain vomit about my dream room.
