His parents buy a house in a good, safe neighborhood;
Her parents cannot get a government loan to buy a house.
He goes to the park to play with his friends;
She walks to the driveway, and she receives looks of hatred and apathy.
He is transported in the family car;
She sits at the back of the city bus.
He goes to the store to buy groceries with his mother;
She goes to the store, and she is told she cannot shop there.
His parents buy him a car for his sixteenth birthday, and all of his friends congratulate him;
She wears new clothes on her birthday, expensive clothes that her parents have been saving
up for, and people think she has stolen them.
He goes to college with goals to be a businessman, to make a difference in his world.
She is shot at seventeen.
Her life is the difference.
