Tick...tick....tick
Seconds ticking by as if time were endless
Why does it take so long?
I have to wait, I have to wait for the exact time to come, 2:00 am..
The traffic will be quiet and the weather is gentle
No one will notice me gone
I stare at the clock, waiting anxiously as time lumbers by
The only sound in the room is the shuffles from my bouncing leg
2:00am, the time has finally come
Quietly slipping on my coat and holding my shoes to my chest
I open the door, my bag slung over my shoulders, sneaking through the hall
Almost there...almost...there
The door
A quiet creak, the door is open
I lace up my shoes, slipping outside into the silent night
I've done it...I've past the first threshold
I know my path, just a simple walk
No longer will I live in my so called home
Now it's only a house, a place of living, a place I no longer live
The small smile, the adrenaline, the motivation
This is the most freedom I've ever experienced
This...is my escape
