The Dark One

I crave the change and I crave the darkness
Of chaos, through and through, without an end
From lush green fields to harsh barren sparseness
I create, and then with that, I expend.

Change: fulfilled by cycling day and night
In accord with those on the other end
Of the world, though to them I am a blight,
They don't realize that on me they depend.

Darkness: the complete absence of their light
They sing a song to curse it, but cannot
For when they feel my true and utter night
I will end their stagnance of ceaseless rot.

Chaos: the only way for me to be
Using it, I will burn forever's tree.

In the midst of a city,

    a tower stands,

    its size beyond all comprehension,

ready to take a bite out of the audience,

who convinced them to let it out of its cage
