Far away from my awakened eyes
Was the sound of heaven.
But I could hear the weakened cries
From a girl aged seven.
The tears that dropped were severed jewels
Their color a silver white.
Her mind and body the object of fools
That keeps her up at night.
The jewels were used to feed and nourish
The demons that lay within.
In order for them to grow and flourish
Her chance at life was thin.
I found myself in her gaze
As the pain subsided.
Her mind and soul a wondering maze
At which she was divided.
"Help me stranger, help me please!
Help! You must save me!
For once I want to feel at ease,
With you I'll finally be free!"
"They feed on the pain from my crystal eyes,
The evil that brought me here.
They torment me with pretty lies
Saying the end is near."
The pain I saw the child go through
Made my heart feel weak.
But there was nothing I could do
And so I came to speak.
"Little girl, I see your pain,
Bloody, bruised, and battered.
The gems that fall from you like rain
Is all that seems to matter."
"I think it's safe for me to say
You don't have long to live.
But I am dead and on my way
And don't have much to give."
And then I left without a word
And soon she began to cry.
It was only after that I heard
That she can never die.
Was the sound of heaven.
But I could hear the weakened cries
From a girl aged seven.
The tears that dropped were severed jewels
Their color a silver white.
Her mind and body the object of fools
That keeps her up at night.
