Bucket List

Bucket List

My bucket list has always mainly consisted of those crazy things everyone wants to do as a kid: to skydive, travel the world, meet The Queen of England, become famous, or play professional sports. But there has always been one thing that has stuck out to me, something a little more easily accomplished, which is to scuba dive at a major reef, probably either the Great Barrier reef or the ones off the coast of Hawaii. Why I want to do this I can explain, but something about me has always just been drawn towards the water to fishing, boating, snorkeling, swimming, and scuba diving. When I was younger I wanted to be a marine biologist and my family and I took trips to a group of small islands in the carribean where I would spend hours snorkeling on the reefs and swimming with the fish. Even though I have snorkeled I have never actually been scuba diving, I always was annoyed by having to stay on top of the water instead of being able to dive down without any restrictions. Another thing is I’ve always loved swimming with fish and I have no idea why but something about it and just seeing them underwater is such a cool feeling.

The way I plan on checking this off my list is, by saving up enough for a trip to australia or hawaii when I’m older. Then I'll have to pass the scuba safety course to be eligible to dive, I’ll have to take practice dives, learn how to use the equipment, and study the signals and markings divers use. Then after that it all comes down to taking the trip and all I know is that I can't wait.

Just a normal Friday, I’ve spent my entire day here, at my house, because of covid-19, I can only go to school two days a week. I hate it, every part of it, I wish it could just be normal.

An utter mess, so undeniably hectic that if it was my room I have no doubt I would be kicked straight out of my house. As I left school that afternoon that's how I would have described my life.

I'm out on the water, one beautiful afternoon, just enjoying myself and my own thoughts, pondering whatever comes to mind. Ideas float by like cattail fluffs drifting along with the current of the tide.
