I stare up,
Up at the sky,
At the vast open blue,
The only limit
My perspective,
With lenses ready
To sail me into the dark,
With stars as my guide,
The chart to follow
In order to sit on a comet
Calmly blazing towards earth,
Gazing at the marbled blue,
The specks of green
To be connected only
By bridges of love,
With boards worn
By the heavy flutter of our hearts,
Railings broken
In places our hope
Has become too heavy,
Messy carvings of words,
Of poems that are so perfect
We cannot bear to let tangle
Into the jumble in our minds,
Knotted scribbles
We think up when no looking glass
Is brought before our eyes;
Now as I hurtle
Towards the sea,
I lift a broken shard to my gaze,
To see a bridge rising
From the reaching depths,
Where I am placed on my feet
For me to catch my stride,
My face still flushed
With fate.
