Block

I'm stuck in a writers and readers block
My fledglings of thoughts haven't yet joined the flock
I can't pen down ideas or read about others
And I would if I could, if I had my druthers
My writing is stuffed with unnecessary words
I'm rereading sentences in chunks and in thirds
The worst part of it is, when I remember
How to similize laughter being like a December
How to write autumn rain so it falls on your lips
How to conjure up laughs with a couple of quips
When I figure it out and it's time to clamp down
I just can't do it
I forgot how to rhyme

It was just a fluke that I happened to see

The ghost of a girl in 1893

I didn't think much of her, tried to ignore

But then she came 'round in 1894

A spirit was not something that I had wanted

  • Papercuts

Did you know that, when you wrote me, I was made of papercuts

That I was ink and glue and wax but mostly, I was papercuts

Did you know that, when you read me, I am made of memories
