Basketball

The clock is ticking down fast.

Basketballs are being shot and dribbled as we warm up.

Fans are getting settled and rowdy as the game is about to start.

Shoes are squeaking as we do defensive drills to get our blood flowing.

Teams go back to back as we talk trash about the other team.

The buzzer goes off as warm-ups are done.

Our coach says “Play for each other. We are one family.”

The ref blew the whistle sharply and the game began

With every possession, we fought hard and had fun

The rival team charged like a storm through the night,

But we held our ground, ready to ignite.

I felt the thrill surge as I drove to the lane,

The world slowed around me, I danced through the rain.

A shot in the air, it felt right on the cue,

And when it swished through the net, the crowd broke in two.

Our coach shared his wisdom, and encouraging belief.
“Stay true to your heart, remember your path,
Play for the love of the game, and you’ll feel its wrath.”

As I feel my heart pumping through my chest

Coach said “keep working hard you guys are doing your best”

We gathered in huddles, embraced in our bliss,
The victory tasted sweeter, a moment not to miss.
Trophy held high, we danced under lights,
A team forged in fire, we reached new heights.

So here’s to the journey, the laughter and pain,
To the sweat and the glory, to sunshine and rain.
In the heart of that gym, where we battled and played,
We found strength in each other, and together we stayed.

  • I Wanted To Love You

I wanted to love you, even though we never got the chance to explore what could have been. Every time we talked, I felt a spark, a hint of something more that perhaps existed only in my imagination.

  • Home

Every week, I look forward to Sundays with my mom. My mom is a beautiful woman. She never wears designer clothes but she wears leggings, T-shirts, and sweatpants. She smells like the Thank You Next perfume by Arianna Grande.
