“Baby Blue Jay” is an abstract portrait in watered-down and thick acrylic paint. I used a watery background, as this is a common theme in my paintings. I also tried to incorporate thick paint into the bird. My audience can learn what a baby Blue Jay looks like by noticing the light gray and fluffy feathers. I used the color yellow for my background to show that it is spring. I also chose to include red poisonous, Pyracantha Berries, because Blue Jays can eat them. When researching, I was very interested to find out they were naturally very aggressive birds.
