In your opinion, how long should a poetry book be? I’ve searched it up and all I keep getting the answer of 40-80 pages but I feel like that’s wrong, as so many other published poets have 120+ pages poetry books.

I think it depends on the content of the poetry. It its meant to be super deep or have a deeper meaning, longer or shorter can affect the way the readers understand and process the information. The most important thing would be to first analyze your writing content and decide on a length that gives you the space to develop and complete your idea(s). Short answer: It really depends on the poetry itself.
Ah, okay! Majority of my poems are about nature, so I feel like a longer poetry book may be better, but in all honesty I have no clue!
hm agreed with TheDemiDevil, I didn't realzie poetry books have a bit of a narrative/story throughout the book, but going by that logic however many poems can fit into that story. My favorite book of poems was like 300 pages lol. Its the Random House Book of Poetry so I personally would say however many poems you think are interesting and fit together. Publishers might be looking for a specific number
