What does it mean to be a teenager in America in 2025? How would you describe your daily life? When and where do you most feel like your true self? Where do you find inspiration? What keeps you awake at night? What brings you joy?

In the short, dark days of December, make it a mission to find vibrant colors around you and share your discoveries in photography, painting, or another medium of your choice.

Autumn is a season of transitions and contrasts, beginnings and endings. In poetry or prose, fiction or nonfiction, make this ephemeral season come to life.

Illustrate autumn as you see it – in the artistic medium of your choice. Consider a traditional aspect or try an abstract interpretation.  

Vermont Artists: Illustrate a poem by Vermont Youth Poet Laureate Harmony Belle Devoe to be created as a broadside print. The winning submission will receive $200, a copy of the broadside, and the opportunity to experience the printing process.

Call to Writers: What will Vermont be like in 2050? In poetry or prose, your submission will be considered for publication in a book about the state's future.
