It sits  
it runs 

it stops all together 
like a nagging child 

but still goes on 
even when painfully 

always young  
but so old 

it flies  

What we do 
is what they see 

is what we do  
even when they don't see 

we should do 
the better side of good 

for them to see 
or not to see. 
 

Pointed ears 
piercing eyes 
staring at you 

It sits, calm and serene 
watching 
you 

Playing with its other 
softly in the white snow 
peering at you 

They hang trapped in the moment 
dangling in gray 
never to fly again 

poised at the ready 
searching for longlost nectar 
reaching for the sky 

how quietly their wings buzz now
