Summer Stars
Darkness coats the grass like
A fresh layer of paint.
Wind speeds through the evening
Lazily resting its head on the fresh grass.
Spreading through the world is a feeling of contentment, -
Drenched
Soft evasive stream,
Living in a world of it’s
Own, catching sunlight.
Pond, smooth and silky,
Like a bolt of blue fabric,
Reflecting the sky.
Rushing raging wind
Of watery heaven and -
shade
shade follows light like a bird falling
down, streaming through a clear blue sheen,
mixing with heat and lightning,
becoming a tomb of
safety and cool wind.
a moth caught in
a jar, a
swirling
storm.

This Is Summer
When the heat begins to rise in waves from your back,
And sweat pours down our necks and arms,
When we collapse on hot pavement that burns our feet and warps our senses,
This is summer.
When even grass takes on a tanned hue, -
Cream Cheese
A rustling magazine pulled from the mailbox,
Hot day with the sun filtering through the bright panes.
Slapped onto the brown table covered with crumbs,
Bright covers and bagels with too much
Cream cheese.
