If I had to say goodbye 
I wouldn't know what to say 

Would I embrace you 
Like we used to 
Or is the tension in the air pulling us away from that 

My friend, on New Year’s Eve, learned a new word.

Heaven is a state of mind where all your fantasies are actualized.

At the hurl of a storm, the tree collapses.

Stagnant from then on, broken. Such an easy thing to be.

In the unpredicted wind, it sways

back and forth on its trunk, tendons straining
