The teacher put our name cards down
right next to each other
and then she introduced us
telling us how wonderful we both are

We sat down rather awkwardly
sitting in the silence
and finished our work in record time

Words bubble up
like a fountain of poetry
sparkling phrases
falling in graceful stanzas
from dainty fingertips
flowing like a gentle stream
into the keyboard
onto the screen
filling up the document
with words

You burn the toast
but that's the way I like it
dark
crunchy
burned with fire

Your imperfections
are part of your beauty
flawed
imperfect
human

Do not hate the flaws
embrace them in all their glory
real

A tire
worn flat
no longer able
to grip the road

Don't throw it away
instead
give it away
to your small children
they can use it for play

They can roll it
ride it
bounce on it
or even

Lillies in a field
Blowing in the gentle breeze
A dancing flower

There is always an air of mystery
surrounding an art museum
the possibility of
an unnatural occurrence 

Paintings hang from the walls
dead eyes
staring deep into the souls
of the visitors
strolling about the place
